# stuck - at installation of kdb

i have downloaded 64 bit on windows- unzipped and put the folder in c: \w64..

when i double click the q.exe the window opens quickly and dissapears i cannot see do anything unable to install and learn. i tried follow the installation document but doenot have solution for this. help pls.

Avoid double clicking as if there is an issue Windows immediately closes the window so you don't have the opportunity to see the error. Instead open a Command Prompt window and then launch kdb+ there by typing `C:\path\to\your\q.exe` and hitting Enter. For me this looks like:

```cmd
C:\Users\rocuinneagain>C:\q\w64\q.exe
KDB+ 4.1 2024.10.16 Copyright (C) 1993-2024 Kx Systems
w64/ 16()core 32065MB rocuinneagain a-lptp-wb6reu0e 192.168.0.75 EXPIRE 2026.03.31 user@domain.com #1234
