Hi guy,
I’m new to kdb and I just started to learn it. In my town (montreal) there are some hedge funds who are looking for kdb developer but all of them they are looking for +2 years of experience. I want to know, how did you land your first entry level/ internship role, I couldn’t find any, all of them want work experience. To add, if I work on non commercial version and dome some project for my own, can I present them later as work experience or the job must be done on only commercial version. In total I need some insight to figure out how to get in.
Regards
I have no kdb “work” experience. But I think technology is just a tool to resolve problem, kdb is one of the most efficient tools.
I guess the required developer is not just have technology skill, but with abilities to resolve problems. So, why not to meet a problem and try to resolve it, and repeat it. That’s what I did.

I am meeting the same problem here in Hong Kong, all KDB+ positions require 2+ years of experience, and I came up with a similar strategy of constructing a personal KDB project.
