Hi, Charles,Sorry for post repeatedly.I’ve using my Smalltalk web server checked to find out that the port5001 is not blocked by the system and the st web server seemed to beworking with no trouble. I do use a TPlink route for my two desktopsbut I checked to find its settings seem all OK. And I run a piece ofq.exe on the other desktop to find this problem occurs, too. Whileport 5002 5042 8888 7777 etc all have a return as 'p. I’m trying tosee if I can connect to kdb from my Smalltalk code once I can get thekdb server work. Thanks for your patient. On Aug 18, 11:23?am, Charles Skelton <char…> wrote:> do you have a firewall running?>> Looks like something is stopping kdb+ binding to port 5001>>>> On Tue, Aug 18, 2009 at 1:54 AM, emptist<empt…> wrote:>> > Hi,>> > I was excited to know kdb+ has now a free personal version and I’m> > working through the getting started guide.> > The install is on Windows XP, c:/q/ thus c:/q/w32/q.exe be path for> > q.exe and c:/q for script files.> > Run q.exe and load trade.q, ok, query trade, ok, now try>> > q>q trade.q -p 5001> > `p>> > so there is something wrong.
