bit confused according to the notebook on iterators, the two having the same characters : single quote and colon ( ': )?

keyword obviously are different but if I use characters in syntax would it cause confusion with interpretation?

It depends on the arity of the function being modified. If it's a unary function, it's peach. If it's a binary function, it's each-prior.
