The paper wasn’t updated recently, the field in a footer of the document displays today’s date (it is just Date() built-in function) :)

The word doc says sept 18 2015. So looks recent

It’s not recent. As Igor explained, the document will just show today’s date, which is why you’re seeing Sept 18. If you open it tomorrow it’ll show the 19th.
